As a company we want to prototype how Diversity and Inclusion are deeply embedded into our DNA. However, we recognise that we are far from exemplary and that there is work to be done on how we represent the rich vibrant city that we are born from.
Putting our beliefs into action, we're writing this policy to ensure Lifely is a true reflection of a modern forward-thinking society. And we're taking our time doing so, researching the subject and interviewing people who are greatly effected by this. It's a sensitive subject, feelings and opinions are involved. That's why we want to do this right.
Some policy we're currently working on and hoping to share with you before the end of 2021:
- A fully transparant salary house including clear definitions of seniority levels to ensure equal pay for equal work.
- Additional flexibility for parents during their first year back from maternity and parental leave. Furthermore, we plan to introduce a form of maternity leave after a miscarriage.
Policies we've all ready implemented:
- A clear social code that ensures all cultures (religious and otherwise) and people (introverts and extroverts) feel at home at Lifely.
- We've introduced a strict hiring methodology that ensures new colleagues are welcomed because of what they have achieved in the past, leaving all bias at the door.
- We've switched our operating language to English to allow for anyone to join the Lifely team.
- We're open to hiring anyone within a plus or minus three-hour time zone from UTC/GMT +1 hour (Amsterdam time zone) who's considering relocating to Amsterdam. After the first yearly contract we'll help team members relocate and sponsor a Visa.
- We cover all expenses for Dutch classes to all expats. All communication should be done in English. We invite you to remind each-other that whenever the conversation is switched to Dutch, no-one is left out.
- We offer extended paternity leave for fathers.
- We've created two avenues where our team can feel free to communicate any issues, especially sensitive manners around Diversity and Inclusion, to either our Lifely Council Trustee or our company wide trustee.
- We have adopted a hiring policy that ensures equal opportunities for everyone who applies at Lifely.
