Very soon, you'll notice we have many meetings. Not all of them require your attendance, but when it is required, you'll always receive a calendar invite in your @lifely.nl Google account. For this reason, it's very important you're able to receive notifications from Google calendar. You can decide for yourself how you'd like to be reminded of events, as long as you're able to inform your colleagues of your availability well ahead of time. This allows your colleagues the time to find a different time slot if needed.

Some options to stay on top of this:

When you set up your Google calendar on any of your devices, you can also add the calendars of your team. This way you can compare schedules when creating an invitation for a meeting. In general, we assume that if there isn't any meeting in a colleague's calender, they're available. This also works the other way around: if there's free space in your calendar, you're available. This has a couple of implications.

  1. Vacation: Schedule in the days you're on holiday and mark the time as away in your calendar after the time-off is approved.
    1. Now, we won’t deprive you of your hard-earned rest, but if your team is unaware of your days off, it can cause a lot of inconvenience for them. Consider this as a general courtesy towards them.
  2. No invitation: Not sending an invite for a meeting.
    1. You can’t count on somebody to remember a meeting if you never sent them an invitation.
  3. Last-minute meetings: Setting up a meeting in the nick of time.
    1. Only do this in extreme emergencies.
