Vegetarian company on the way to vegan.

Everyone has the right to choose their own diet. Let's get that out of the way first. Whatever your diet, from carnivores to full-on vegans, everyone is welcome at the Studio. However, as a company we've decided to allocate lunch and retreat budgets to amazing plant-based food and dairy alternatives.

For now, we will still purchase eggs, milk, and cheese-based products from reputable biological farms. We will however phase out dairy in the coming years, starting with products like evaporated milk ('koffiemelk') and butter. We will replace these with soy or oat-based alternatives.

Bring your own meat?

If you feel like bringing your own meat for lunch or full cow's milk for your latte, you're entirely free to do so. We do however ask you to take any animal-based products with you at the end of your day to prevent any food waste. Even if you're going to be in the studio the day after, please take all animal-based products home with you.

Also, please don't bake any hamburgers or other meats at the Studio for lunch or dinner.

<aside> 🖇️ For now, we will place weekly orders for lunch at Albert Heijn. In the future we hope to look at more local alternatives like for example De Buurt Boer, who deliver fresh high-quality lunch for the entire team.

Please, feel free to grab anything from the refrigerator, it's all yours. :) Also, please check the dates of any product you put back into the refrigerator and throw out anything that is at or over its expiration date.

🐿️ We also provide as many healthy snack bars, crisps, and nuts you could wish for. If you have any suggestions, please let the Studiomanager know.

🍺 Furthermore, we will provide enough locally-brewed beer for spontaneous parties. Please, don't limit your beer consumption till just Fridays. ;-) Everyday past 16.00 is fair game. ;-)

Lunch contribution cost.

Looking at the future of planning lunch

• Due to Dutch taxation laws, any coffee, tea, food, and lunch provided by Lifely to our team is regarded as alternative income and therefore has to be taxed. For this reason, 3 euros per day you work in the Lifely Studio will be deducted from your net income on your payslip. The actual cost is roughly 7-10 euros per day if you include the lunch we serve and the cost for all the snacks and Nespresso cups. Lifely covers these additional costs for you.

• 🛒 8-minute walk: EkoPlaza/Marqt is a straight walk down the Prinsengracht and you can find Jumbo and Albert Heijn within a 5-min walk on the Westerstraat.
  • 🧺 On Mondays you can find the Noorder Markt at only 2 minutes from our studio. Get great fresh food, bread, and cheeses from the market. The market closes at 13.00 so make sure you lunch early.
• ☕ 8-minute walk: If you're in for the best espresso and lattes in the city, go to Bruno's, address: Tweede Goudsbloemdwarsstraat 3C, 1015 JX Amsterdam.
  • ☕ 2-minute walk: A great alternative to Bruno's (but seriously, go to Bruno's) is Pelican Rouge Coffee Amsterdam, Westerstraat 3, 1015 LT Amsterdam.
